NCP - National Council of Psychotherapists

National Council of Psychotherapists The NCP is one of the longest established societies of its type in the United Kingdom, being formed in 1971 following the "Foster Report" on the statutory registration of psychotherapists.

The NCP is a National and International Association of therapists, mainly in private practice, to whom the public may confidently refer.  Most schools of psychological thought are represented and a wide variety of therapeutic approaches are offered.

You may apply for membership of this organisation as a licentiate on successful course completion, and you may join as an associate whilst training with us.  An introductory membership pack will be provided for you once you commence training.

NCH - National Council For Hypnotherapy

National Council for Hypnotherapy The National Council for Hypnotherapy holds one of the largest registers of independent Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom and strives to maintain the highest standards among its members. Only schools that offer the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) are able to gain accreditation through the NCH. The NCH has a comprehensive code of ethics and was instrumental in developing the HPD - Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma - which was the first externally vaerified qualification for the hypnotherapy profession.

All students are invited to join the National Council for Hypnotherapy as a student member, which is free of charge. On successful completion of the course, you may apply for licentiate membership.

GHSC - General Hypnotherapy Standards Council

General Hypnotherapy Standards Council The GHSC acts as a link between the hypnotherapy industry and the Department of Health (DH), who has actively encouraged the Council to continue its work towards promoting the status of Voluntary Self-regulation (VSR) for the hypnotherapy profession. In this regard, the GHSC is currently participating, along with other professional bodies, within the recently established Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation whose purpose is to explore ways in which the industry may progress towards VSR. Membership of the GHSC is available solely to Professional Organisations involved in the field of Hypnotherapy.

The Diploma in Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy has been validated by the GHSC and our graduates are eligible for registration with the GHR at full practitioner level.

GHR - General Hypnotherapy Register

General Hypnotherapy Register The GHR is the largest Professional Register of Hypnotherapists in the UK. It is comprised of individual practitioners and open to any Hypnotherapist who is able to satisfy the criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the GHSC.

The HA - Hypnotherapy Association

Hypnotherapy Association UK The Hypnotherapy Association is a non-profit making organisation and is a leading independent professional body in Britain representing approved hypnotherapists in active practice. The hypnotherapy association also provide a register of approved training schools. Our course has been approved and recommended by the Hypnotherapy Association. Successful graduates may apply for membership of the HA, which offers corporate advertising and freephone referral schemes for its members as well as providing an in-house journal and annual conference.

UKCHO - UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations

It is the aim of UKCHO to promote the professional regulation of hypnotherapy within the United Kingdom, to ensure that Hypnotherapists are safe and competent to practice, and that they adhere to national standards of ethics and training. The UK Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations insists that schools train to minimum standards of 120 hours face to face and 450 hours of total study time. Our UKCHO registration numbers are 82099 (Carole) and 80426 (Alan)

NCFE

The NCFE is an awarding body operating throughout the UK offering qualifications from pre-entry level up to and including level 4. The Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) is a qualification instigated in June 2002 and accredited jointly by the NCH and NCFE.

ISMA - International Stress Management Association UK

International Stress Management Association ISMAUK sets professional standards for the benefit of individuals and organisations using the services of its members. Promoting sound knowledge and best practice in the prevention and reduction of human stress, ISMAUK is the leading UK professional body representing a multi-disciplinary professional health and well-being membership. The Academy of Clinical & Medical Hypnosis Ltd have based their stress management awards on the recommended core content produced by ISMA. Carole has been a member of ISMA since 1997 and was previously a committee member.
