One of the greatest concerns facing newly qualified hypnotherapists is a lack of confidence in their knowledge and delivery of hypnosis.
No matter how much practical input a hypnotherapy training course provides, it may be difficult to meet up with other students in order to practice hypnotherapy.
Although our course includes plenty of supervised practice, we know that some students feel that you can never have too much practical experience! We have heard of some schools who allow students to practice on 'live' clients or encourage students to advertise free therapy. Neither approach is ethical!
Here at the Academy of Clinical & Medical Hypnosis we are committed to providing ongoing support to our students and to this end we run additional supervised practice sessions. These take place in our consulting room in Dronfield - so that you can practice in a 'real' setting with recording equipment if you want it.
Although we initially designed these courses for our own students we have now expanded our practice sessions to allow ANY hypnotherapist to attend: student or newly qualified, who would like a little more practice in a supportive environment.
Carole has been an accredited supervisor (AccHypSup) with NCH since 2001. She is also an accredited supervisor with NCP. For details of supervision dates or for further information, please contact us.
Each session from our consulting rooms is limited to just four students and operates on a 'first come - first served' basis. Once places are allocated the group can set its own agenda, and some of the topics covered recently include: Ericksonian language, deepening techniques, recording sessions, guided imagery for cancer, structuring sessions, affect bridge technique, marketing, client homework and treating skin disorders.
Each session lasts 4 hours and costs just £47 (incl. VAT), including a light lunch.
For information on forthcoming classes (there are usually two per month) please contact us - either phone or email.
You may use supervised practice sessions as part of your CPD requirement. Please advise Carole in advance if you need a certificate for this purpose.
Research has shown that the use of hypnosis as an adjunct therapy when receiving treatment for cancer will speed up the healing process in children.Reductions in both nausea and pain were reported by children participating in the study.
Hypnotherapy is an ideal treatment for children, as children respond excellently to this technique, which is totally safe if administered by a skilled therapist. [more...]
